Every bat in this service is prepared by me, personally. Not outsourced, not passed to someone else. I have been repairing and preparing cricket bats for ten years, and I have run AKS Cricket since 2016.

What you already get free with any bat you buy from us

• Machine knocking
• Oiling, if the bat needs it
• Scuff sheet applied

Just ask for it at checkout. It costs you nothing.

What this service adds

• Edges and toe finished by hand, using kangaroo bone — done by me, not by a machine
• A final check and finish, so the bat is genuinely ready to play

Machine knocking gets a bat most of the way there, but it still leaves 20–30 minutes of careful hand knocking on the edges and toe. That hand work is what stops edges cracking early, and it is the part that takes experience to get right. This service is me doing it for you.

Nothing left for you to finish. Pick it up and play.

Good to know

• Turnaround: 2–3 days
• Any bat is welcome, wherever you bought it — you do not need to have purchased it from us
